At Dollis, our EYFS team is highly knowledgeable, dedicated, and experienced. We consistently maintain the required staff-to-child ratios throughout the day and ensure that a paediatric first-aid trained team member is present in every session.
Role of the Key Person
At Dollis your child’s Key person is the Class Teacher. They take responsibility for the progress, assessment and outcomes of every child throughout the year.
They work closely with the classroom team to observe, plan, assess and review your child’s learning and progress regularly across each term.
These observations and assessments are shared regularly with our families through Tapestry (Online Learning Journal). These observations and assessments inform the planning of our provision and we ensure that we are aware of children’s current level of development and possible next steps for learning.
You have the opportunity to meet these key persons formally and informally before your child starts with us during our ‘open days’ and ‘come and play sessions’. After you accept your place at Dollis, we begin to get to know you and your child straight away, we do this through home visits and pre-admission meetings which provide the perfect opportunity for us to learn all about you and your child. Every term we hold our parent teacher learning conferences which offer you a formal opportunity to meet with your child’s class teacher to learn about your child’s progress and their current targets.
