INSET Days - What are they?
.
An INSET Day (short for In-Service Training day) is a day in which schools are closed to pupils so that teachers and school staff can complete professional development, training and administration tasks.
Typically each school will have five of these across the course of the academic year. While students have this time off, staff are required to attend these days. Each individual school has the freedom to select these in advance of the academic year.
