Welcome
Dear Parents and Visitors to our Website,
Firstly I would like to extend a warm welcome to all visitors to our School Website. I hope that from the information you read here you are able to develop an understanding of our ethos, values, curriculum and provision we have in place at Dollis Primary on a day-to-day basis.
Here at Dollis Primary School we serve the community of Mill Hill (North London), welcoming children aged 2-11, from pre-school to Year 6, we take immense pride in our diverse and inclusive community. With two classes per year group, we offer a close-knit environment where every child receives the attention and support they need to flourish.
Our vision is “Excellence in all we do. Shaping attitudes, efforts and ambitions” which commits us to prepare the students for the next stage in their educational journey. We want the students to be equipped with the knowledge, skills and understanding to influence change in the world that they live in. We want them to take responsibility as a global citizen, to be ambitious and aware of their potential. Most importantly, we want them to harness the power of being a life-long learner.
Dollis Primary has a strong sense of values education which underpins not only our curriculum but also the decisions that are made on a day to day basis – respect, honesty, kindness, determination, courage and ambition are fundamental to our identity as a school. These values create a strong commitment to the learning environment and social interactions between staff and students, as a result the academic achievement of the students benefits immensely.
Throughout the school we foster a safe, cohesive, calm and caring environment where students feel valued and are challenged through a broad and balanced curriculum. We want the students to develop a “growth mindset” approach so they become resilient when faced with a challenge and take risks in their learning. As a staff of excellent practitioners, we are committed to ensure this happens on a day-to-day basis because we believe that they are key elements of lifelong learning.
“What can I learn from this, what I can I do differently next time? ” (Carol Dweck)
In order for students to achieve and develop holistically they are encouraged to learn in a variety of different ways as individuals and as groups. At Dollis Primary, we endeavour to involve students in their own learning by setting goals, reflecting, taking opportunities to lead with their peers or class and developing a positive mindset where mistakes and challenge become a key part to their development and progress. These opportunities develop a well-rounded learner that is able to adapt to a wide range of situations thus making the best of all learning experiences now and in the future.
If you have any further questions regarding the website or the school in general then please contact us, or do please visit us and see what a wonderful school Dollis Primary is with all the opportunities we offer the students.
